Pigment is an award-winning coloring book app with over 20 million downloads, designed for people of all skill levels. Its intuitive interface makes it easy to explore creativity through over 10,000 curated illustrations, color palettes, and realistic tools, including pencils, markers, and watercolors. Pigment also features its own online community where people can share their artwork, connect with others, and find inspiration. Available for iPad and iPhone.

As the lead designer for Pigment, I led a major redesign of the app’s interface to align with modern design standards and user expectations. Originally launched in 2015 as one of the first coloring book apps for iPad, almost a decade later, Pigment’s interface had remained largely unchanged even as accessibility needs, design standards, and development practices have evolved.

Working closely with research, development, and marketing teams, we redesigned Pigment from the ground up. I established the visual language and built the design system, interface, and interactive prototypes in Figma. We ran multiple user tests to validate early concepts and refine the experience with real feedback.

Our work resulted in a successful launch of Pigment 3.0, which doubled downloads in the following months and secured Pigment’s spot as the #1 coloring book app on the App Store with a 4.6 rating.
