Foursquare believes in the power of location. Originally launched as a check-in app, Foursquare has evolved into the world’s leading platform for understanding people and places to help companies create better customer experiences with location based data and technology.
As a Design Manager, I oversaw and contributed to the rebranding of Foursquare, as they evolved from a consumer app towards a B2B company providing location based enterprise products. While working closely with our creative director, the design team and partner agencies (Playlab Inc.), we established and applied the new visual language across all touch points including enterprise products, marketing materials, web, social, and swag.
The Foursquare brand is at the intersection of art and design. The design language speaks to data and code through its type treatments, icons and colors, and is complimented with generative art based on location data. Foursquare differentiates itself in their space as an enterprise brand with swagger.
